About The Position

As a Transportation Permit Specialist, you will have the opportunity to work on a small diverse team that is responsible for administering permits for over dimensional and overweight tractor trailers. These movements require special assistance and directions to move safely throughout the state.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree.
• Customer Service experience required.

Nice To Haves

• Motor carrier permit registration experience preferred.
• Analytical experience related to determining compliance with state and federal rules, regulations, or related standards preferred.
• Experience with Transportation or Logistics Operations to include freight movement and tracking (heavy haul and permit purchasing) helpful.
• Data and systems experience preferred.
• Experience with permit management and permit routing software preferred.
• GIS tools experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review oversize and overweight permits for accuracy and completeness.
• Review oversize and overweight permits for routes and restrictions to ensure safe travel throughout the state.
• Review oversize and overweight permits to ensure compliance with current rules and laws.
• Provide customer support to commercial carriers requiring permit status and updates.
