The Agency of Transportation is seeking a Transportation Operations Technician II. This position is responsible for various tasks related to highway maintenance, such as repairing guardrails, cutting trees/brush, patching roads, picking litter, ditching, and more. In the winter months, this position will also assist with plowing and salting, and overtime may be required. Additionally, this position may assist in vehicle and equipment maintenance. The Transportation Operations Technician I/II performs a number of skilled tasks while being closely supervised by higher-level transportation operations technicians. As the incumbent completes training and gains skills, greater work independence is expected. The incumbent gains skills and knowledge in the use of hand, power tools, heavy equipment, technology (such as IPads, computers, etc.), state and federal regulations and through required on-the-job training, advances that knowledge and applies these developed skills to road maintenance and repair work.
