About The Position

Reporting to the Director Transportation Operations, the Transportation Manager leads domestic transportation planning and execution across suppliers, co-packers, distribution centers, and manufacturing facilities. The role ensures shipments move at published rates while maintaining high service levels, and partners with Supply Chain, Customer Service, Sales and Operations Planning, and carrier partners to improve performance, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency. Responsibilities cover inbound and outbound domestic transportation across multiple modes.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field.
5+ years of supply chain experience.
Experience leading, coaching, and developing team members.
Demonstrated success influencing cross-functional partners and third-party providers.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of distribution operations and end-to-end supply chain processes.
High sense of urgency with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Travel up to 10% as required to support business needs.

Nice To Haves

Experience with SAP and Oracle Transportation Management systems.
Knowledge of transportation modes, transportation metrics, and transportation rate structures.

Responsibilities

Lead Transportation Operations Planning team members to deliver service, cost, and productivity objectives.
Partner with Transportation Procurement and Logistics Operations leaders to develop and execute transportation and logistics strategies.
Collaborate with Customer Service and Sales and Operations Planning teams regarding service performance, capacity requirements, and cost reduction initiatives.
Build carrier relationships and manage carrier scorecards to improve service levels and transportation costs.
Recruit, train, coach, and develop transportation planning team members while driving a high-performance culture.
Use Oracle Transportation Management systems to strengthen transportation capabilities, service and cost analytics, and operational efficiency.
Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures that create scalable and repeatable processes.
Identify and execute projects that improve transportation performance, reduce costs, and enhance customer service.
Analyze transportation metrics and operational data to support continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide recommendations regarding carrier utilization, transportation programs, and rate optimization opportunities.
