GFT is seeking a part-time Transportation Management Center (TMC) Operator to join our Practice or CBG Team in Chipley, FL. This role follows an onsite work model, requiring regular attendance at our Chipley, FL office. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to multitask and stay sharp under pressure
• Flexibility for varied schedules and on-call needs
• Successful completion of a criminal background check

Nice To Haves

• Experience with dispatching, traffic systems, or fast-paced monitoring environments
• Familiarity with local DOT roadways or background in public safety/transportation

Responsibilities

• Traffic Operations situational awareness, data entry and monitoring a designated region, district and roadway for normal and emergency conditions to identify incidents, coordinate response and update status for DOT and Consultant management in a 24/7/365 environment, using various software, CCTV and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
• Monitor roadway conditions using CCTV, traffic data, and apps like Waze and Google Traffic
• Detect incidents quickly and coordinate response with DOT, law enforcement, and field crews
• Dispatch maintenance teams for urgent and routine roadway needs
• Update Variable and Dynamic Message Signs to inform travelers in real time
• Verify traveler information across DOT platforms
• Track closures, hotspots, work zones, and equipment issues
