About The Position

GFT is seeking a part-time Transportation Management Center (TMC) Lead Supervisor to join our Practice or CBG Team in Chipley, FL! This role follows an onsite work model, requiring regular attendance at our Chipley, FL office. We are currently offering the following positions for qualified candidates to fill current needs: Full-Time (40 hours a week/with benefits, flexible shifts). The Relief Supervisor supports the Chipley Regional Transportation Management Center by monitoring traffic conditions, managing incidents, coordinating Road Rangers, and ensuring effective RTMC operations. This position frequently works with limited supervision and may perform Operations Supervisor duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Internal candidates: Minimum 4 years RTMC experience.
  • External candidates: Minimum 5 years supervisory or related experience.
  • High school diploma required
  • Knowledge of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) principles.
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotations, respond to operational emergencies, work flexible schedules in support of 24/7 operations, and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning, innovation, and professional development.
  • Must possess or actively pursue CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, and a current Microsoft certification or other networking certification relevant to the ITS environment.

Nice To Haves

  • SunGuide® experience preferred.
  • Operational & Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead and manage personnel in a 24/7 operational environment, develop training programs, establish performance standards, and make sound decisions during high-pressure situations.
  • SunGuide® & Operator Systems: Advanced experience with SunGuide® software, including device management, event handling, DMS operations, reporting, and performance analysis. Familiarity with operator workstations, video walls, Stream Deck consoles, and public-facing data feeds such as DIVAS and FL511.
  • Technical & Systems Skills: Proficiency in desktop hardware and software troubleshooting, system maintenance, IP-based video systems, video walls, audio distribution systems, networking fundamentals, system integration, ITS field devices, and communication protocols.
  • Data & Innovation Skills: Ability to analyze operational and system performance data, implement process improvements, support reporting automation, optimize workflows, and leverage emerging technologies including AI, scripting, and automation tools.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Windows operating systems, and related business applications.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to non-technical audiences while coordinating with internal teams, stakeholders, and external partner agencies.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor roadway conditions, incidents, congestion, and alerts from SunGuide®, WAZE, FHP CAD, RWIS, 511, and CCTV.
  • Manage events and field devices using SunGuide® (CCTV, VDS, DMS).
  • Dispatch Road Rangers and log activities accurately.
  • Identify and report equipment issues affecting control room or field systems.
  • Coordinate with RTMC staff and external agencies including FHP, police, fire, and EMS.
  • Support required monthly reporting, incident documentation, and system QA/QC.
  • Assist with SunGuide® configuration updates and produce weekly operational reports.
  • Prepare materials for major incident reviews (RISC, MIE).
  • Operate FDOT One Call (SPOC) and assist with public/partner outreach.
  • Assist with training new RTMC Operators and perform Supervisor duties when assigned.
  • Work overnight, weekend, and alternate shifts, as needed.
