About The Position

Wilson Elser is seeking a proactive, highly skilled Transportation Litigation Attorney for its Houston office. The attorney will represent a large international logistics services provider and handle challenging litigation matters in the transportation sector, including emerging legal issues. Working under the supervision and guidance of senior attorneys, the attorney will manage cases from beginning to end, provide sound client counsel, and collaborate with colleagues across the country. The position offers a flexible hybrid working arrangement.

Requirements

JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
Admitted to practice in Texas.
At least 3 years of general casualty litigation experience.
Deposition and motion practice experience.
Superior analytical skills.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Sophisticated technical skills.

Nice To Haves

Transportation and logistics, trucking, and related regulatory experience.
Experience with emerging e-commerce or gig economy legal issues.
Trial experience.

Responsibilities

Proactively manage a litigation caseload and help oversee cases from beginning to end under the supervision and guidance of senior attorneys.
Conduct legal research and analysis concerning transportation laws, regulations, and legal standards.
Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, legal memoranda, and other legal documents.
Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
Negotiate settlements and agreements on behalf of clients.
Collaborate with colleagues across departments and offices.
Draft case analysis reports for client stakeholders and develop proactive resolution strategies.
