Transportation Intern - Roadway
About The Position
Our experienced Highway Transportation Team in Round Rock, TX is seeking a civil engineering student to join our team to train and mentor as a Roadway Design Intern. The intern will actively participate in plan preparation and design by working alongside our dynamic team and being exposed to many aspects of transportation engineering including highway, intersection, maintenance of traffic, and drainage designs. The intern will become familiar with relevant DOT standards for highway design and plan preparation. The intern will learn and utilize industry-related design software such as MicroStation, Inroads/OpenRoads, and CulvertMaster/FlowMaster. The successful candidate will be a strong team player with a commitment to becoming a key member of this highly productive design team. The Garver Launch Program is an immersive hands-on intern development program where interns engage daily with fellow interns and industry professionals to build their network, participate in Garver's acclaimed wellness program, give back to the community through volunteer activities as part of Garver Gives, and enhance professional growth by collaborating with Garver's Learning and Development team.
Requirements
- Must be pursuing a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in transportation engineering
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Reliable and responsible individual

Responsibilities
- Actively participate in plan preparation and design
