About The Position

The Agency of Transportation is seeking an Intern Maintenance Worker for a position in the Middlebury garage. This is a unique opportunity to learn and receive training in the field of highway equipment maintenance. Duties include but are not limited to repair/maintenance of trucks and equipment, assisting with snow and ice control, guardrail installation, patching potholes, and cleaning the roadside. The position is open to students that are actively pursuing a high school diploma or equivalent. The work schedules offer flexibility, with the ideal candidate being able to work full shifts on school breaks and/or as their school schedule allows. This is a temporary position. Temporary work is typically for variable hours and is not expected to be full-time. The State does not guarantee 40 hours of work per week.

Requirements

• Must actively be pursuing a high school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• A current, valid driver's license is preferred.
• An incumbent must live within reasonable proximity of assigned workstation.
