About The Position

Garver is seeking a motivated environmental sciences student to join our Transportation Team in Rogers, AR. This intern will gain real-world experience in the documentation of environmental resources, training by our experienced environmental staff and project managers, and an understanding of how to apply their academic training in the consulting industry. The internship involves actively participating in environmental compliance and planning projects by working alongside a dynamic consulting team both in the field and at the office. The intern will become familiar with local, state, and federal regulations relevant to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and assist in preparing technical reports and regulatory documentation, including Section 404 permit applications and supporting materials. The role offers exposure to interdisciplinary interests such as ecology, hydrology, cultural resources, hazardous materials, and environmental justice, with opportunities to work on various infrastructure projects across transportation, aviation, and water business lines. The intern will also learn and utilize industry-related software like ESRI ArcGIS products. The successful candidate will be a motivated critical thinker with the adaptability to learn and engage with a diverse range of environmental projects. Requirements

  • Candidates must be pursuing an environmental science, ecology, biology, or related degree
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in different environments, both indoors and outdoors, as necessary.
  • Proven time management skills and work ethic.
  • Proven professional communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
  • A strong desire to assist with a wide array of infrastructure improvement projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous internship or co-op experience in the environmental field.
  • Previous experience using GPS and/or GIS software.
  • Previous experience in environmental fieldwork.

Responsibilities
