About The Position

Transportation Equipment Dispatching Support personnel provide essential coordination and control of LOGSU-1 transportation assets, supporting the Transportation Division’s Leading Chief Petty Officer (LCPO) and Leading Petty Officer (LPO). This role ensures efficient scheduling, tracking, and readiness of Civil Engineering Support Equipment (CESE) and Material Handling Equipment (MHE). Responsibilities include dispatch operations, status tracking, maintenance coordination, and reporting. This position directly supports mission success by ensuring transportation assets are available, properly maintained, and efficiently allocated across Naval Special Warfare operations.

Requirements

  • Experience: Transportation dispatching, fleet management, or logistics coordination
  • Experience: Fleet management systems and databases
  • Certification: Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
  • Certification: Valid forklift operator’s license
  • Skills: Organizational and multitasking skills in high-tempo environments
  • Clearance: Secret
  • U.S. citizen
  • Driver’s License required
  • Must be able to operate Government vehicles and equipment
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Must demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must maintain high attention to detail and accuracy
  • Must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Must have knowledge of logistics and inventory systems
  • Must be capable of operating within classified environments and systems (Non-classified Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNET) / Secret Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNET))
  • Must comply with all safety, security, and workplace regulations
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform dispatch duties for extended periods
  • Ability to inspect vehicles and equipment, including climbing and bending
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment and vehicles safely
  • Ability to work in outdoor and motor pool environments
  • Skills: Equipment tracking skills
  • Must have knowledge of logistics, inventory, and compliance systems
  • Ability to lift and handle hazardous materials safely

Responsibilities

  • Schedule and dispatch “C” Pool Civil Engineering Support Equipment (CESE) and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) for short-term and recurring mission support
  • Track equipment utilization and monitor late returns, notifying customers of status
  • Re-issue “B” assigned equipment on a recurring basis to supported units
  • Monitor Preventative Maintenance schedules and notify customers of upcoming service requirements
  • Receive and relay emergency breakdown notifications through the chain of command
  • Prioritize and assign equipment based on mission requirements and cost efficiency
  • Utilize Fleet Focus (FA) database to assign, track, and service fleet equipment
  • Collect and update mileage and usage data from remote locations
  • Maintain and manage key control systems for approximately 600 vehicles
  • Inspect vehicles for damage, safety compliance, and operational readiness
  • Maintain and update equipment readiness status boards and reports
  • Balance equipment availability to support simultaneous mission requirements
