About The Position

Environmental Design Group is seeking a qualified Transportation Engineer. You’ll work on exciting projects, including municipal roadways, roundabouts, trails, heavy highway, safety studies, green and complete street designs, and more for ODOT, LPA, and Non-LPA clients across Ohio.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Analytical and creative thinking.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred, but not required
  • Strong relationship-building and communication abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent follow-through.
  • Professional, adaptable, and solutions-focused mindset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting detailed research, analyzing data, and preparing plans to support innovative design solutions.
  • Performing field reviews to identify opportunities and constraints.
  • Collaborating with senior staff to create CAD-generated designs and compelling visual exhibits.
  • Providing cost estimates, documentation, and quality checks for project accuracy.
  • Contributing to projects that enhance communities while ensuring safety and sustainability.
  • Adhering to all quality and safety standards.
  • Making recommendations and demonstrating analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Building professional connections through client meetings and networking.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
