About The Position

Stanley Consultants is seeking a talented and driven individual that wants to take the next step in their career and design transportation projects for our top clients, including the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD). This individual will provide engineering expertise for various projects throughout the State of Louisiana. This position requires experience in roadway design as well as a determination to grow their transportation design knowledge. This position plans and designs across the full cycle of transportation projects from concept through construction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience with focus on transportation design
  • Louisiana Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Experience working with DOTD developing and delivering highway design projects
  • Experience with DOTD design methods, plan preparation, standards, and specifications
  • Proficiency with Bentley InRoads, OpenRoads
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with a project team
  • Self-motivated with adaptability to evolving projects and client needs
  • Knowledge of virtual collaboration tools such as ProjectWise and Bluebeam

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Experience with local governmental agencies and municipalities developing and delivering transportation design projects

Responsibilities

  • Lead plan development for transportation design projects including horizontal and vertical geometry, cross sections, earthwork modeling, and 3D roadway modeling.
  • Prepare and modify reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and cost estimates.
  • Lead drainage and utility design and coordination.
  • Calculate quantities and develop construction specifications.
  • Utilize computer-assisted engineering design software to create professional contract drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with company quality assurance and quality control standards.
  • Lead and mentor EITs and design technicians.
  • Review design computations and quantity estimate for accuracy.
  • Evaluate needs for design changes and make appropriate recommendations.
