About The Position

Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC) is seeking a Transportation Engineer to join our growing team in Bridgeport, West Virginia. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to gain hands-on experience working on a variety of transportation infrastructure projects, including municipal, DOT, and private development work. You’ll contribute to real projects from day one while continuing to build your technical skills under the guidance of experienced licensed engineers. The role involves performing engineering design, analysis, task management, and plan preparation on a variety of transportation projects for a broad range of commercial, industrial, and government clients. Specific tasks include geometric studies, preliminary and final design engineering, plan production, drainage design, construction staging, design and quantity calculations, and cost estimating. CEC offers a reliable work schedule with a clear path for career advancement. The Bridgeport office has grown to over 130 professionals and supports a wide variety of projects across the region. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers and multidisciplinary teams, gaining exposure to different project types while building a strong foundation in transportation design. CEC provides a consistent project pipeline that allows the team to continue developing their skills while contributing to meaningful work in the communities served.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related required
  • 2+ years of Roadway/Transportation Engineering experience
  • Experience designing with CADD software (OpenRoads or Civil 3D)

Nice To Haves

  • Engineer Intern/Engineer in Training (EI/EIT) preferred
  • DOT/DOH project exposure is a plus
  • Experience in roadway geometric design, pavement design, construction document preparation, and Right-of-Way Plan Preparation is a plus
  • Experience in grading and drainage, hydrology and hydraulics, stormwater management, erosion and sediment pollution control, and utility coordination is a plus

  • Perform engineering design, analysis, task management, and plan preparation on a variety of transportation projects for a broad range of commercial, industrial, and government clients.
  • Geometric studies, preliminary and final design engineering, plan production, drainage design, construction staging, design and quantity calculations, cost estimating, and other related efforts.
