Transportation Driver
About The Position
Yorkview Nursing and Rehab is seeking a dependable Transportation Driver for its skilled nursing facility in York, Pennsylvania. The role provides safe, reliable transportation for residents and compassionate, courteous service throughout each trip. The driver transports residents to scheduled appointments and outings, assists with mobility and vehicle access, and coordinates schedules with nursing staff and outside providers. The position also includes vehicle inspections and upkeep, accurate transportation documentation, and compliance with traffic laws, facility policies, and resident safety procedures.
Requirements
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to safely assist residents with mobility needs.
Nice To Haves
- Previous transportation or healthcare experience preferred.
- Experience transporting seniors or individuals with mobility limitations is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Safely transport residents to and from physician appointments, dialysis, hospital visits, and other scheduled outings.
- Assist residents with entering and exiting the facility vehicle safely.
- Escort residents to and from appointments as needed.
- Coordinate transportation schedules with nursing staff and outside providers.
- Maintain the cleanliness and safety of facility vehicles and perform routine inspections.
- Complete all transportation documentation accurately.
- Follow traffic laws, facility policies, and resident safety procedures.
- Promptly report vehicle maintenance needs or safety concerns.
- Provide courteous, respectful, and compassionate service to residents and their families.
