About The Position

Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering (ICE) is seeking Transportation Construction Inspectors to support roadway, bridge, and transportation infrastructure projects along the Georgia and South Carolina coast. What You'll Work On: Highway and interstate improvements, Bridge construction and rehabilitation, Asphalt paving and resurfacing, Drainage and utility installations, Traffic control and safety improvements, Roundabout construction. ICE provides training and support to help inspectors obtain certifications and advance their careers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong math, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to work in field environments.
  • Inspector I: 0–3 years of construction inspection experience.
  • Inspector I: Ability to obtain required certifications within six months.
  • Inspector II: 3+ years of transportation construction inspection experience.
  • Completion of OSHA 10 certification is required as a condition of employment. New hires without current certification must complete the training within two (2) weeks of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
  • GDOT and/or SCDOT inspection experience preferred.
  • Current DOT certifications preferred (for Inspector II).
  • Experience with roadway, bridge, asphalt, concrete, drainage, or earthwork inspection (for Inspector II).
  • Preferred Certifications Georgia: ART, EDBT, Concrete Technician I & II, Work Zone Traffic Control, ACI Field Testing Technician.
  • Preferred Certifications South Carolina: Concrete Technician, Asphalt Roadway Technician, Earthwork & Base Technician, Foundations Certification, Nuclear Gauge Safety Certification.
  • Signing bonus available for candidates with bridge inspection experience.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, contract requirements, and quality standards.
  • Observe and document daily construction activities.
  • Inspect roadway, bridge, drainage, and utility work.
  • Verify compliance with plans, specifications, and safety requirements.
  • Sample and test construction materials.
  • Measure quantities and maintain project records.
  • Review contractor submittments and report non-compliance issues.
  • Complete daily reports and project documentation.
