Transportation Construction Inspector
About The Position
Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering (ICE) is seeking Transportation Construction Inspectors to support roadway, bridge, and transportation infrastructure projects along the Georgia and South Carolina coast. Inspect and monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, contract requirements, and quality standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Strong math, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to work in field environments
- For positions involving field work, completion of OSHA 10 certification is required as a condition of employment. New hires without current certification must complete the training within two (2) weeks of hire. ICE will provide the training and cover associated costs.
Nice To Haves
- Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering preferred
- GDOT and/or SCDOT inspection experience preferred
- Current DOT certifications preferred
- Experience with roadway, bridge, asphalt, concrete, drainage, or earthwork inspection
Responsibilities
- Observe and document daily construction activities
- Inspect roadway, bridge, drainage, and utility work
- Verify compliance with plans, specifications, and safety requirements
- Sample and test construction materials
- Measure quantities and maintain project records
- Review contractor submittments and report non-compliance issues
- Complete daily reports and project documentation
