Transportation Construction Inspector (PennDOT 4-0 District)
About The Position
Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson (JMT) is a 100% employee-owned consulting firm with over 2,800 professionals providing engineering, architecture, information technology, and related services. JMT's Allentown-based Construction Management Team is seeking Transportation Construction Inspection professionals for projects within PennDOT's District 4-0 region (Luzerne, Lackawanna, Pike, Wayne, and Susquehanna Counties). The role involves applying standard inspection procedures to ongoing construction activities to ensure structural quality, general safety, and conformance to plans, specifications, and codes.
Requirements
- Computer Proficiency
- Active driver's license and reliable motor vehicle
- Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
Nice To Haves
- NICET Level II or higher in Transportation/Highway Construction
- NECEPT-Bituminous and Concrete Field Technician
- ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician
Responsibilities
- Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications, and construction methods to ensure compliance with legal requirements and safety regulations.
- Perform routine tests on concrete, soils, and other materials.
- Measure dimensions and verify the level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades, and/or pavement to ensure compliance with plans and codes.
- Gather and maintain record documents.
- Make field notes and computations.
