About The Position

Infrastructure Consulting & Engineering (ICE) is seeking Transportation Construction Inspectors to support roadway, bridge, and transportation infrastructure projects along the Georgia and South Carolina coast. This position requires regular field work on active construction sites, including standing, walking, climbing, lifting, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Night and weekend work may be required based on project schedules. For positions involving field work, completion of OSHA 10 certification is required as a condition of employment. New hires without current certification must complete the training within two (2) weeks of hire. ICE will provide the training and cover associated costs.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong math, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Valid driver's license and ability to work in field environments
  • Ability to obtain required certifications within six months (for Inspector I)
  • Current DOT certifications preferred (for Inspector II)
  • Experience with roadway, bridge, asphalt, concrete, drainage, or earthwork inspection (for Inspector II)
  • Completion of OSHA 10 certification is required as a condition of employment. New hires without current certification must complete the training within two (2) weeks of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering preferred
  • GDOT and/or SCDOT inspection experience preferred
  • Bridge inspection experience (for signing bonus)

Responsibilities

  • Observe and document daily construction activities
  • Inspect roadway, bridge, drainage, and utility work
  • Verify compliance with plans, specifications, and safety requirements
  • Sample and test construction materials
  • Measure quantities and maintain project records
  • Review contractor submittments and report non-compliance issues
  • Complete daily reports and project documentation
