Transportation - Civil Engineering Internship - Summer 2027
About The Position
KEITH is seeking a Transportation Civil Engineering Intern to join its Miami, Florida office during Summer 2027. The intern will learn fundamental engineering processes, construction methods, and permitting while contributing to the concurrent planning, design, production, and construction of engineering projects for private- and public-sector clients. The internship includes exposure to CAD design and drafting, transportation and roadway design, traffic analysis, utility design, engineering calculations, data research and analysis, and coordination across disciplines. The intern may participate in design and production meetings, prepare materials for permit applications, and attend site visits. This is a paid internship program.
Requirements
- Be in the process of obtaining a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Be proactive, enthusiastic, and self-starting, with a positive attitude and a drive to learn.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Be able to work with clients and colleagues at all levels.
Responsibilities
- Learn and contribute to planning, design, production, and construction processes for engineering projects.
- Develop CAD design and drafting skills using MicroStation, ORD, and AutoCAD.
- Gain exposure to transportation and roadway design, traffic analysis, and utility design.
- Perform engineering calculations and data research and analysis.
- Coordinate activities with other disciplines, internally and externally.
- Participate and contribute to design and production meetings.
- Research, evaluate, compile, and prepare materials for permit applications.
- Attend site visits.
