Transportation - Civil Engineering Internship - Summer 2027
About The Position
KEITH is seeking a Transportation Civil Engineering Intern to join its Pompano Beach, Florida office in Summer 2027. The intern will gain knowledge of fundamental engineering processes, construction methods, and permitting while contributing to the planning, design, production, and construction of engineering projects for private- and public-sector clients. The internship offers exposure to CAD design and drafting using MicroStation, ORD, and AutoCAD; transportation and roadway design; traffic analysis; utility design; engineering calculations; and data research and analysis. The intern will coordinate activities with other disciplines, participate in design and production meetings, research and prepare materials for permit applications, and attend site visits. This is a paid internship program.
Requirements
- Be in the process of obtaining a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
- Be proactive, enthusiastic, and self-motivated, with a positive attitude and drive to learn.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Be able to work with clients and colleagues at all levels.
Responsibilities
- Learn and contribute to transportation and roadway design, traffic analysis, utility design, and related engineering work.
- Perform engineering calculations, data research, and analysis.
- Coordinate activities with other disciplines, internally and externally.
- Participate and contribute in design and production meetings.
- Research, evaluate, compile, and prepare material for permit applications.
- Attend site visits.
- Gain knowledge of fundamental engineering processes, construction methods, and permitting.
