About The Position

The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) oversees building and maintaining the nation’s 5th largest interstate system and the 3rd largest number of bridges. ODOT takes pride in providing safe and efficient roadways for the people of Ohio and to the people traveling within our great state. This position is part of the Construction Department and involves a 12-month training plan with scheduled rotations through core engineering disciplines: Planning & Engineering, Construction, and Highway Maintenance. The role provides hands-on transportation training and experience to further a career as an engineer with ODOT.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering
  • Accepted for Basic Fundamentals of Engineering Examination (EIT exam) by Ohio Board of Registration for Professional Engineers & Surveyors.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • The final candidate will be required to undergo a criminal background check.
