About The Position
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is hiring a Transportation Auto/Truck Technician Assistant for Warren County Equipment Unit 212. The role provides an opportunity to learn to maintain district-wide equipment, including trackhoes, dump trucks, loaders, pumps, and other highway equipment. Work is typically performed in a garage-type facility or field setting. Some travel is required for training, and the employee must be able to respond to emergencies. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license before employment. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and maintain any required licenses, certifications, or credentials throughout employment. No prior experience, training, or skills are required. The job includes an initial and promotional probationary period of six months, except as provided by KRS 18A.111.
Requirements
- High school graduate.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Must possess a valid driver's license before employment and maintain required licensure, certifications, or credentials throughout employment.
- Must be able to work, sit, stoop, and bend.
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
- Must be able to respond to emergencies.
- Some travel is required for training.
