About The Position

The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s Department of Highways is hiring a Transportation Auto/Truck Technician Assistant for its Warren County Equipment Unit 212. The role offers the opportunity to learn to maintain district-wide equipment, including trackhoes, dump trucks, loaders, pumps, and other highway equipment. Work includes changing oil and hydraulic fluids, learning to identify electrical problems and monitor equipment using computers, maintaining equipment during snow and ice operations, and working on small equipment. The position requires a valid driver’s license, some travel for training, and the ability to respond to emergencies. Work is typically performed in a garage-type facility or field setting. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, and eligible for overtime pay.

Requirements

High school graduate.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must possess a valid driver's license before employment and maintain required licensure, certifications, or credentials throughout employment.
Must be able to work, sit, stoop, and bend.
Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
Some travel is required for training.
