About The Position

The Transportation Aide transports patients to and from the Department and helps keep the department clean and orderly. The role also includes maintaining an adequate linen supply, keeping transportation equipment clean and in proper working order, and performing other related duties as directed. The position is based at Singing River Pascagoula Hospital and follows an alternating schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM, and Monday–Thursday, 7:00 AM–5:30 PM. The aide must be able to work assigned schedules, which may change according to hospital needs, including changes to days off, shifts, or weekends.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer.
Demonstrate keen mental faculties, assessment, and decision-making abilities.
Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to receive and give information in person and by telephone.
Maintain emotional stability when dealing with high stress levels, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
Show attention to detail and the ability to multitask in complex situations.
Maintain collaborative and respectful working relationships.
Possess superior customer service skills and professional etiquette.
Be proficient with computers and keyboard use, office technology such as telephones and fax machines, MS Outlook, and Word.
Demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment and apply appropriate professional skills to patients of all ages.
Be able to remain active for extended periods without undue fatigue.
Be able to work assigned schedules, including possible changes to days off, shifts, or weekends.
