About The Position

The Transportation Aide transports patients to and from the Department, helps keep the department clean and neat, maintains an adequate linen supply, and keeps transportation equipment clean and in proper working order. The role also includes other related duties as directed. The position is based at Singing River Pascagoula Hospital and reports to the Director of Radiology, Operations Manager, and Director of Surgical Services.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must complete and maintain BCLS certification upon hire and/or transfer.
Must demonstrate keen assessment and decision-making abilities.
Must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills and professional customer service.
Must possess emotional stability for working in high-stress situations and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Must be attentive to detail, able to multitask in complex situations, and maintain collaborative, respectful working relationships.
Must be proficient with computers, keyboard use, and office technology, including telephone, fax, MS Outlook, and Word.
Must demonstrate appropriate clinical judgment and apply professional skills to patients of all ages.
Must be able to remain active for extended periods and work assigned schedules, which may change according to hospital needs, including off days, shifts, or weekends.
The work involves exposure to body fluids, sputum, and tissues that may carry infectious-disease hazards.
