About The Position

Culina’s Chilled & Fresh division is seeking a Transport Team Leader for its Rugby site. This is a full-time, permanent position responsible for supervising the Transport Operations Team and driver team. The role includes daily planning of company and third-party resources, ensuring vehicles and drivers receive clear instructions and are fully utilised. The shift is Sunday to Thursday nights, 16:00–06:00, and the salary is £33,000.

Requirements

• Transport experience in an FMCG environment.
• Excellent communication skills to deliver accurate information.
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure.
• Ability to work as part of a team or individually.
• Knowledge and experience of tachograph and driving rules and regulations.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office packages.
• Ability to prioritise workload effectively to meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

• CPC National qualification (desirable but not essential).

Responsibilities

• Allocate drivers and vehicles to loads efficiently, accounting for holidays, sickness, drivers’ hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
• Plan driver start times to meet site despatch KPIs.
• Communicate proactively with third-party hauliers to ensure collection times from site are met.
• Liaise with the shunting operation regarding pre-loading and unloading.
• Maintain clear and effective communication with drivers, providing accurate start times, load information and directions.
• Ensure orders are despatched and delivered in the correct condition and in line with customer specifications.
• Notify collection or delivery points about delays.
• Work with other departments to achieve and maintain service levels.
• Allocate equipment to meet maintenance and service intervals as instructed by the maintenance planner.
• Follow the business Health & Safety policy and ensure all accidents are reported.
