About The Position

The Transport Supervisor will be responsible for supporting the Logistics Management team in all aspects of the operation, including scheduled transport, ad-hoc courier services, staff and patient transport. The role aims to provide a high-quality, cost-effective transportation service in line with QE Facilities requirements, ensuring compliance with all legal legislation and company policies, while considering department and overall network requirements. The Transport Supervisor will also be required to cover for driver holidays and absences.

Requirements

  • Must cover a minimum of 3 years employment or education references covering 3 years.
  • If there are gaps, character references will be required.
  • Provide the address, telephone number, and work email address of current/previous line managers covering 3 years employment or education references.
  • References should ideally be from two separate employers.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all deliveries and collections are made on time and in compliance with current procedures.
  • Ensure all assets are recorded in line with laid down procedure.
  • Ensure all company resources are available on time and all delays are reported.
  • Ensure all patients are transported in a safe and dignified manner.
  • Monitor performance of all staff and prepare reports as per company policy.
  • Carry out regular meetings with staff to ensure flow of communication.
  • Assist in the recruitment of drivers within the agreed establishment levels.
  • Ensure all driving and related staff comply with legal requirements.
  • Ensure that all vehicles are maintained in line with legislation, any operator licence and company requirements.
  • Monitor and carry out performance reviews with subcontractors.
  • Encourage and assist in the development of each member of staff.
  • Carry out disciplinary hearings in line with company policy.
  • Ensure all administration aspects for transport staff in the department are up to date.
  • Ensure all driving staff comply with driver’s regulation by use of contracted systems.
  • Assist in the development of the transport department by maintaining high standards.
  • Assist in the control of vehicle fleet within the depot.
  • Support the company’s quality management systems and to ensure all defects are raised and cleared in an effective manner.
  • Responsible for scheduling work, managing resource and priority conflicts.
  • Direct supervision of drivers and coordinators to ensure work is completed in-full, on-time and to the required quality.
  • Contribute to a safe working environment.
  • Work with staff and customers at all levels to ensure proper management of change, compliance and reporting of non-compliance.
  • Ensuring escalation protocols are followed.
  • Management of staffing issues, adhering to the best standard of care, confidentiality and civility at all times.
