About The Position

Thermo King Northeast is hiring a full-time Transport Refrigeration Technician at its Windsor Locks, Connecticut location. The technician performs preventive maintenance, inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on transport refrigeration units, auxiliary power units, and heater equipment. The role also includes completing service documentation, communicating with supervisors, teammates, and customers, keeping current with technical and regulatory requirements, and making road service calls as required. The position offers hourly compensation of $20.00–$45.00, benefits, paid factory training, certification reimbursements, opportunities for promotion from within, flexible scheduling, generous paid time off, and a uniform and boot program. Requirements

Experience installing and/or repairing refrigeration or HVAC equipment.
Ability to install, diagnose, and repair refrigeration equipment.
Technical knowledge of refrigeration systems, components, materials, methods, and equipment sufficient to perform, prioritize, and complete job assignments.
Own and maintain the proper hand tools to perform job functions.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Proficiency with computer operation and usage.
Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Technical trade school education.
EPA 608/609 refrigeration certifications, or willingness to earn them.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and service inspections on transport refrigeration units (TRUs) and auxiliary power units (APUs).
Diagnose and repair mobile refrigeration equipment, auxiliary power units, and heater equipment.
Follow established technical and administrative processes.
Complete repair orders and parts usage forms.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and customers.
Remain current on technical and regulatory requirements.
Perform road service calls as required.
