About The Position

Cargill is hiring a full-time Refrigeration Technician for its protein and salt business in West Columbia, South Carolina. The role is on the third shift and pays $33.25 per hour, with a 50-cent shift premium for third-shift work. The technician will help maintain refrigeration, boiler, and HVAC systems and participate in activities supporting the ammonia Process Safety Management (PSM) program. Relocation reimbursement is not included.

Requirements

• Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Prior industrial/utilities experience or an equivalent technical degree.
• Knowledge of compressed air systems.
• Must be able to train for and obtain Hazmat Level A Entry certification.

Nice To Haves

• Industrial ammonia refrigeration certification or experience, or Industrial/Class III Wastewater licenses.
• Prior industrial food and beverage industry utility maintenance experience.
• Knowledge of compressed air systems, ammonia refrigeration, and Ludell hot water systems.
• CARO/CIRO qualification.

Responsibilities

• Monitor refrigeration, boiler, and HVAC systems to ensure they are operating properly.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on refrigeration, boiler, and HVAC systems.
• Participate in ammonia PSM program activities, including training, system reviews, and documentation.
• Perform other assigned tasks and duties.
