About The Position

The Transport Aide provides safe transport of patients, personal effects, requisitions, specimens, charts, and miscellaneous items, and assists with patient transport activities as required. This is a per diem position with variable hours based on departmental needs. Scheduled hours are 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.; scheduled days vary, and weekend coverage may be required as needed. The position is located at The Valley Hospital in Paramus and is classified as evening shift.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
No previous experience required.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Good communication skills to interact with patients, family members, and other members of the health care team, and respond quickly to customers’ needs.
Ability to pay attention to detail and change tasks without loss of efficiency or composure.
Ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule.
