About The Position

Albany Medical College is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Transplant Surgeon to join its established and collaborative abdominal transplant program. This is an opportunity to be part of a multidisciplinary team within a leading academic health system that supports clinical excellence, education, and continued program growth. This role offers a comprehensive transplant practice with a focus on kidney and pancreas transplantation, participation in multi-organ deceased donor procurement, a broad surgical scope, including general surgery and vascular access procedures, and access to robotic and minimally invasive surgical techniques. The ideal candidate will have experience in kidney and pancreas transplantation, proficiency in multi-organ donor procurement, and training or experience in robotic and minimally invasive surgery. The successful applicant will play an active role in advancing the transplant program while delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. This position includes an academic appointment at Albany Medical College, with rank commensurate with experience, and provides meaningful opportunities in teaching, quality initiatives, and clinical collaboration.

Requirements

  • MD/DO (or equivalent) with board certification or eligibility in transplant surgery
  • Completion of an ASTS-accredited transplant surgery fellowship
  • Demonstrated experience in kidney and pancreas transplantation
  • Ability to provide a current operative case log reflecting active surgical practice
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the state of New York
  • Academic experience or interest sufficient for appointment at the Assistant or Associate Professor level
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach to care
  • Commitment to education, quality improvement, and academic medicine
