Hoag Health, the top-ranked health system in Orange County, California, is seeking a collaborative, innovative, and mission-driven Transplant Infectious Disease Physician to join our growing abdominal transplant program based in Newport Beach, California. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced transplant infectious disease specialist to help build a comprehensive kidney and liver transplant program from the ground up while shaping the clinical, quality, and regulatory infrastructure necessary to support long-term program success. Working in close partnership with transplant surgery, transplant nephrology, hepatology, hospital leadership, nursing, pharmacy, infection prevention, microbiology, quality, and other multidisciplinary teams, the Transplant Infectious Disease Physician will provide clinical expertise across the continuum of transplant care while serving as the program's infectious disease subject matter expert. The physician will play a key role in developing evidence-based protocols, supporting regulatory compliance, advancing quality initiatives, and ensuring exceptional outcomes for transplant candidates, living donors, and transplant recipients. In this position, you will balance clinical responsibilities with leadership in transplant infectious diseases, supporting the growth, quality, innovation, and long-term success of Hoag's abdominal transplant program while helping establish one of Southern California's premier transplant centers. You will partner with transplant leadership to develop and implement clinical pathways, standardized protocols, and best practices for infection prevention and management, serving as the transplant program’s infectious disease subject matter expert.
