About The Position

The Transmissions Analyst facilitates project closeout for the Operating Company's transmission capital project program. The role interacts regularly with departments across multiple organizations, including Engineering, Supply Chain, Property Accounting, Project Management, Construction, and Compliance. It supports reviewing and reconciling charges against completed work so projects can be closed after being placed in service and construction is complete.

The analyst manages the capital project closeout process for the Transmission Engineering organization in accordance with the transmission capital Project Closeout management procedure. The position is based onsite in Birmingham, Alabama, and is listed for a duration of 18+ months. The posting gives a pay rate of $30–$36 per hour on W2, all inclusive.

Requirements

• A two-year degree from a technical school or university with related work experience is required.
• Familiarity with transmission substation and/or transmission line design, construction, operation, and/or maintenance.
• Working knowledge of materials used to construct transmission substation and/or transmission line projects.
• Understanding of transmission substation and/or transmission line construction scope, equipment, and associated costs.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products and the ability to manage and analyze large sets of transaction data.
• Collaboration and teamwork skills to work effectively with colleagues in various departments.
• Time-management and organizational skills sufficient to manage multiple projects with varying priorities and competing deadlines.
• Effective communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Engineering, or Engineering Technology may be preferred.
• Prior experience managing transmission capital projects is preferred.
• Prior experience in transmission substation and/or transmission line design and/or construction is strongly preferred.
• Experience with TEAMS (Transmission Estimating and Management System), Maximo, Vault, and/or PowerPlan is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage the capital project closeout process for the Transmission Engineering organization according to the transmission capital Project Closeout management procedure.
• Research and resolve variances between actual costs and estimates.
• Close capital projects.
• Track capital project closeout status.
• Provide business reports and maintain proper documentation.
• Develop and leverage customer-focused relationships with stakeholders involved in the design and construction of transmission substation and/or transmission line projects.
• Support review and reconciliation of charges against the scope of work completed.
