About The Position

These positions support the efforts of the Transmission Owner Strategy group with its representation of Electric Transmission's (ET) business interests in the stakeholder and regulatory processes of Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs) and the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). These positions provide an opportunity to learn about the PJM Interconnection and its wholesale electricity markets and will help Electric Transmission analyze and understand the RTO and FERC policy landscape pertaining to transmission expansion, operations, planning, and project execution. The company offers a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking).

Requirements

  • Transmission Owner Policy Analyst I: 0-2+ years of experience in the electric industry.
  • Transmission Owner Policy Analyst II: 3+ years of experience in the electric industry.
  • Strong analytical, computer, problem assessment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong written, oral, and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated skill using PC-based applications and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and abstract thinking skills.
  • Ability to perform research and independently determine corporate positions.
  • Self-motivator who is resourceful and comfortable managing ambiguity.
  • Ability to process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks.
  • Ability to breakdown complex ideas into easy-to-understand language and concepts.
  • Excellent teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Transmission Owner Strategy group in covering RTO stakeholder committees, subcommittees, task forces, and forums.
  • Monitors ET regulatory and policy changes and assists in the development of informational briefings for business unit leaders.
  • Assists and prepares research and analysis of transmission policy and rule changes to determine impact to the company.
  • Assists and works with Transmission Owner Strategy staff in developing corporate positions on RTO planning and strategic ET obligations and opportunities.
  • Collaborates with corporate FERC policy team and electric market policy team to drive ET strategic initiatives.
  • Participates in company’s response to RTO-related FERC filings, NOPRs, and settlements.
