About The Position

Willy’s Transmissions and Air Conditioning is hiring an experienced Transmission / Heavy Line Technician to work in Kāneʻohe, Hawaii. The role focuses on transmission repair, heavy line work, advanced diagnostics, and major mechanical repairs. The position pays $45 per hour and is full-time. Paid training and professional development opportunities are offered.

Requirements

• Hands-on heavy line experience is required.
• Strong transmission removal, installation, and repair skills.
• Experience performing heavy line and major mechanical repairs.
• Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
• Automotive electrical diagnostics experience.
• Familiarity with professional scan tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining high-quality repair standards.
• Dependable work habits and strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

• Four or more years of professional automotive technician experience is preferred.
• Three or more years of transmission repair experience is preferred.
• Diesel repair experience is a plus.
• ASE certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair transmission, drivability, and performance issues.
• Perform transmission removals, installations, and repairs.
• Complete heavy line repairs and major component replacements.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical concerns using professional scan tools.
• Perform engine and diesel-related repairs as needed.
• Interpret diagnostic trouble codes and follow proper repair procedures.
• Use hand tools, specialty tools, and shop equipment safely.
• Verify completed repairs and ensure proper vehicle operation.
• Maintain accurate repair orders and service documentation.
• Work collaboratively with technicians and service personnel.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
