The Streaming Disney Entertainment & ESPN Transmission team supports 24/7 monitoring and operational sustainment for Linear and Event streaming products; HULU, ESPN+, and Disney+. As a member of our 24/7, highly skilled streaming transmission team, you will support critical streaming broadcast systems, oversee and analyzing audio/video transmissions across multiple data centers and ensuring successful management, monitoring, and delivery of live linear and live event broadcast streams, within the IP based transmission ecosystem. You will work with cutting edge technology and be responsible for The Walt Disney Company’s most valuable sports and entertainment content airing on our linear and event streaming platforms. Requirements

  • Demonstrates an understanding of digital distribution equipment and technologies used in broadcast transmission environments.
  • Possesses a basic understanding of IP-based transport protocols and delivery methods, including HLS, RTMP, SRT, unicast, and multicast.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and comfortable using common computer-based tools to support day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate in a 24/7 technical operations environment and contribute as a developing technical professional.
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Broadcasting experience, military experience within related fields, or similar transferrable experience.

Responsibilities

  • Route and monitor multiple audio and video feeds across a variety of transmission and distribution paths.
  • Quickly identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in a fast-paced live production environment.
  • Remotely configure and support hardware systems used for live event acquisition, distribution, and linear operations.
  • Continuously build knowledge of emerging technologies, tools, and workflows to support evolving operational needs.
  • Adhere to company and departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and all applicable policies and guidelines.
  • Contribute to troubleshooting efforts and problem-solving initiatives that support operational performance and reliability.
  • Accurately interpret routine operational information and apply that knowledge to day-to-day responsibilities.
  • Support operations in a 24/7 Technical Operations Center (TOC) environment, maintaining focus and attention to detail in a high-profile setting.
  • Provide professional, timely, and customer-focused technical support to internal teams and external partners as needed.
