This position is responsible for the analysis of the Cooperative’s transmission system and the design and construction of complex electrical power systems. The role involves developing and maintaining power-flow models, analyzing transmission system performance, and ensuring compliance with NERC and ERCOT Reliability Standards. The engineer will also participate in ERCOT working groups, prepare project justification documents, and respond to information requests from ERCOT. Additionally, the position contributes to the development and maintenance of Transmission Planning Standards, Transmission Line Design Standards, and Transmission Line Equipment and Material Standards. The role requires coordinating with various stakeholders to evaluate the impact of load and generation interconnections, reviewing transmission line designs, and operating computer-assisted engineering software. The engineer will also review the work of engineering graduates, prepare technical drawings and specifications, and confer with others on engineering projects. Responsibilities include investigating customer complaints, overseeing project production, managing the design and monitoring of transmission projects, and representing the Cooperative in the Public Utility Commission of Texas Certificate of Convenience and Necessity (CCN) process. The role also involves providing guidance and mentoring to other engineers, responding to departments as an engineering resource, and maintaining the security of confidential information.
