About The Position

Applied Materials is seeking an experienced Transitions Project Manager to join their Global Supply Chain Transitions team. This role is based in Austin, Texas, and is an onsite position. The primary responsibility is to manage supplier transitions, including site moves, dual-sourcing, supplier exits, and merger and acquisition integration support, to ensure the continuity of supply for Applied's manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate is a proactive, analytical, and collaborative project manager skilled in coordinating cross-functional teams, working with suppliers, and using project and supplier data to make informed decisions. Strong data analysis and reporting skills, along with experience managing cross-functional projects from initiation to completion, are essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or related field
  • 4–7 years of experience in project or program management within a matrixed or global organization
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, data visualization) required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presenting to stakeholders at multiple levels
  • Proven ability to build relationships and drive work across diverse teams and geographies

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Supply chain, procurement or sourcing experience preferred
  • Engineering or technical background is a plus
  • Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CAPM, Six Sigma) are a plus
  • Experience with Tableau, Power BI or SQL preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned supplier transitions from scoping through qualification, implementation and closure, tracking milestones, dependencies and risk.
  • Support site and part qualification plans — coordinating inspection and validation activity with engineering and quality partners, and tracking findings through to closure.
  • Manage Supplier Notifications (SNFs) for assigned work, confirming incoming changes meet process requirements, resolving system conflicts and moving approvals forward.
  • Lead project teams spanning Design Engineering, Copy Exact, Supplier Engineering, Supplier Account Management, Quality, Business Unit Materials and supplier contacts, keeping work moving and issues resolved.
  • Analyze part, supplier and qualification data to identify trends and risks, and produce status and risk reporting that supports project and business decisions.
  • Communicate status, risk and recommendations clearly to stakeholders at every level; document decisions, and contribute to the team's templates, guidelines and standards.
