Supply Chain Project Manager - (B3)

Applied Materials•Austin, TX
•$88,000 - $121,000•Onsite

About The Position

Applied Materials is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Project Manager. The role will be at the Austin office and is onsite (not remote or hybrid). As a key member of the Global Supply Chain Strategy Office, you will manage projects that protect continuity of supply as Applied accelerated material innovations. Working within the Transitions and Compliance team, you will run assigned continuity projects — supplier moves, dual-sourcing, supplier exits, and integration activity — from intake through closure: building the cross-functional team, maintaining the plan, and driving deliverables and risks to resolution. This role suits a proactive, organized supply chain professional who manages detail well, communicates clearly, and carries commitments to closure across a matrixed global organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
  • 4–7 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, sourcing, project management, or analytics within a matrixed or global organization.
  • Proficiency in Excel (formulas, pivot tables) and PowerPoint (presentation design).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to influence and build relationships across diverse teams and geographies.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and stakeholder management abilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, CAPM, Six Sigma) are a plus.
  • Experience with supplier changes, transitions, or part qualification activity is an advantage but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple supply chain continuity projects simultaneously, from intake and scoping through execution and closure — defining outcomes, milestones and resource needs, and delivering to plan.
  • Manage assigned supplier transitions — site moves, dual-sourcing, supplier exits and integration activity — ensuring complete part lists are captured, qualification and audit activity is scheduled, and supply is protected throughout.
  • Manage supplier change notifications for assigned continuity projects — confirming incoming changes are accurate and complete, resolving conflicts, and routing and expediting approvals to meet Applied change management requirements.
  • Support the SNF program team with day-to-day administration of the Supplier Notification Form process — reviewing incoming supplier submissions for completeness, routing them to the correct approvers, and following up on aging tasks.
  • Plan and track the movement of material between suppliers, Applied sites and qualification locations — coordinating shipments, documentation and delivery commitments so material arrives when the project plan requires it.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across Global Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, the Business Units and supplier contacts. Convene working meetings, document decisions, hold owners to their commitments, and provide clear and timely status to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Identify risk early, confirm ownership with the responsible functions, track dependencies and open decisions, and escalate through established channels to limit downstream delay.
  • Pull and validate part, supplier and project data, analyze, and develop the reporting used to track material status and risk reporting that drives decisions.
  • Ensure all phases of project, program and process development are documented and disseminated to the relevant functional areas, and contribute improvements to team templates, playbooks and standards.

  • Supportive work culture that encourages you to learn, develop, and grow your career
  • Programs and support that encourage personal and professional growth
