About The Position

The Transitional Housing Site Supervisor will oversee the operations and services of the Pico-Union Transitional Housing Program serving transitional age youth (TAY) experiencing housing instability. The Transitional Housing Site Supervisor will supervise a team of resident coordinators, support staff, and case managers, ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of residents and staff. This includes ensuring staff conduct regular room checks, update program logs, maintain a clean and welcoming environment, and coordinate with security as needed. The Transitional Housing Site Supervisor will support case managers with triaging referrals, conducting intakes and move-ins, and connecting residents to housing and community resources. They will also provide coaching, training, and supervision to staff, review documentation, complete regular reporting, ensure compliance with program policies and contracts, and liaise with partner organizations.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of experience providing direct services to high-risk transitional age youth (TAY) is required.
  • 3-4 years of experience accessing social services (homeless services, DCFS, probations, DPSS)
  • Demonstrated Knowledge of best practice models including: Housing First, Positive Youth Development, Authentic Youth Engagement, Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, Trauma-Informed Care, Critical Time Intervention.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills with the ability to foster a collaborative team culture.
  • A self-starter who is prepared to drive innovative solutions within the organization
  • An ability to work in a fast paced environment requiring flexibility, problem-solving, and effective crisis management.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day program operations, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
  • Supervise, coach, and evaluate a team of resident coordinators, support staff, and case managers.
  • Provide trauma-informed guidance and crisis intervention to staff and residents, including de-escalation, mediation, and after-hours support as needed, including driving to and responding to site-related emergencies when required.
  • Ensure program policies, procedures, and site protocols are consistently followed and updated in alignment with contracts and best practices.
  • Ensure staff are conducting regular room checks to monitor resident safety and well-being; checks are typically performed hourly overnight and at key times during the day, in accordance with program policies and licensing requirements.
  • Ensure staff are accurately updating program logs, documenting resident interactions, incidents, and other relevant information in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate closely with case management staff to support resident intakes, move-ins, discharges, and referrals, ensuring residents are connected to housing and community resources.
  • Drive to and attend internal meetings, community partner meetings, trainings, inspections, and other off-site obligations as required.
  • Monitor resident engagement in services, encouraging participation in programming, workshops, and case management.
  • Manage program compliance, quality assurance, and data integrity; ensure timely and accurate completion of HMIS and internal documentation.
  • Support preparation for audits, inspections, and program reporting, ensuring contract deliverables and outcomes are met.
  • Conduct regular staff check-ins, team meetings, and provide opportunities for training and professional development.
  • Maintain program budgets and monitor expenses in alignment with financial guidelines.
  • Provide on-site coverage as needed, including nights and weekends, to ensure continuity of operations and resident support when shifts are open.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission of the program and organization, including driving to and fulfilling job-related responsibilities as required.
