About The Position
The Sheppard Pratt School in Cumberland is a nonpublic special education day school dedicated to providing year-round educational, vocational, and daily living services to students in grades K-12. Requirements
- Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field and experience working with behaviorally challenged adolescents.
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience.
Nice To Haves
- MSDE Initial Professional License (IPL) is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Preparing the transition component of the individualized education plan (IEP) for students in the program.
- Serving as a resource for students and their families/caregivers regarding post-secondary planning, including scholarship and financial aid applications, and connecting them with relevant agencies.
- Developing transition portfolios for students.
- Assisting in tracking and managing student service-learning hours and Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) graduation requirements as appropriate.
