About The Position

At Omega Health Services, we believe that access to care starts with a safe ride. We are looking for a dedicated Transit Driver to join our Martinsburg team. In this role, you aren’t just driving a vehicle; you are a vital link in our care network, ensuring our patients and staff reach their destinations with dignity, safety, and comfort. This role is based out of our Martinsburg, West Virginia, hub. We are specifically seeking a local transit expert who knows and loves the community, is comfortable navigating our city's unique layout, and can seamlessly manage our surrounding regional routes.

Requirements

  • Must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a Passenger (P) Endorsement.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional driving experience.
  • Strong, functional knowledge of Martinsburg, WV, and the surrounding Berkeley and Jefferson County road networks.
  • A clean driving record with no major violations or at-fault accidents within the last 3 years.
  • Ability to successfully pass a comprehensive physical and mandatory pre-employment drug/alcohol screenings.
  • Minimum of 18 years old (21+ if interstate transport is required).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare transport, shuttle services, or transit settings is preferred.
  • Prior experience operating passenger transit buses in a clinical or paratransit environment.
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle maintenance and emergency roadside safety procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Execute scheduled and on-demand transit routes in a safe, courteous, and defensive manner, strictly adhering to all West Virginia traffic laws and Omega safety protocols.
  • Conduct rigorous pre-trip and post-trip inspections (fluids, brakes, tires, safety gear). You are the first line of defense in maintaining a clean vehicle and reporting mechanical needs immediately.
  • Provide hands-on, respectful assistance for passengers with mobility challenges, including professional boarding/de-boarding and the expert securing of wheelchairs and assistive devices.
  • Keep meticulous, accurate logs for trips, mileage tracking, fuel consumption, and passenger counts.
