About The Position
Gordon Food Service is seeking a CDL A Transit Driver with a Doubles Endorsement. This role involves transporting loaded and empty trailers, singles or doubles, between GFS Distribution Centers or point-to-point via night transit. The night shifts ensure drivers are home every day, and the freight is no-touch. Gordon Food Service emphasizes safety, security, and valuing its employees. Newly licensed drivers are encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- At least 21 years of age
- Class A CDL License at hire
- Minimum of 2 years driving experience with your class A
- Doubles (T) endorsement required
- Must be able to push and pull up to 50lbs (connecting trailers)
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English (to read labels, pick lists, scanners, signage, company website information related to benefits, updates, complete paperwork and follow verbal instructions)
- Successfully pass a drug test that will assess drug usage (including marijuana) and a background check
- Clean driving record; as required by DOT and Gordon Food Service standards
- Must be registered through the Department of Transportation Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse and provide electronic consent in order to be considered for employment with us effective January 6th, 2020.
- No Auto Restriction
- Must be able to operate a 10 speed transmission.
