About The Position

The purpose of this classification is to provide strategic leadership, direction, and oversight for developing and executing DeKalb County’s transit strategy in alignment with County priorities and community mobility needs. This role guides long-range transit policy, planning, and capital investment initiatives; ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations; and serve as the principal advisor to the Chief Executive Officer and County leadership on transit policy, planning, and system performance. The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Transportation Management, or a related field required, Master’s preferred
  • 10 years of progressively responsible experience in transit or transportation management
  • or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver’s license.
