About The Position

Eaton’s Electrical Sector is currently seeking an Transformer Team Lead to join our First shift team. This position is based at our Richmond, VA facility. The Production Lead-Transformer position is focused on building Transformer sub-assemblies and assemblies to customer specifications using mechanical or power hand tools, machines, gauges, soldering and brazing equipment. In addition to day-to-day operations, the role is responsible for ensuring department meets operational goals around safety, quality, productivity, and on time delivery. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent or GED
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without out company sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • Ability to solve complex practical problems
  • Must be able to simultaneously manage several objectives, and reassign priorities
  • Ability to deal with a wide variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines

Nice To Haves

  • 2 to 5 years experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred
  • Lean 6S [5S + Safety] experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to build sub-assemblies and assemblies
  • Use heavy industrial equipment, including cranes, winding machines, fabrication, welding and brazing equipment
  • Be responsible for visual inspections of material before and after assembly
  • Use various fixtures, gauges, hand tools and power tools to assemble, adjust, or repair product
  • Inspect completed assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards and making necessary adjustments when required in order to meet quality goals
  • Provide process and safety improvement ideas
  • Ensure machines and tools are properly calibrated and perform housekeeping duties as necessary using the principles of 5S+ and participate in periodic 5S+ audits of various operations
  • Use available reports and monitor the progress of projects on the production floor to ensure on time delivery to the customer expectations
  • Provide feedback to management on the matters that impede the progress of management’s objectives of providing a harmonious, safe and productive work environment
  • Comply with and ensure department compliance with all company guidelines, including health, safety, environment, attendance and punctuality
  • Communicate shift status to Production Management as well as opposite shift lead
  • Support continuous improvement of assigned area(s) including maintaining visual management board
