About The Position

Delta Star Inc. is seeking a reliable, safety-minded Level 1 team member to support transformer element builds under direct supervision. The role assists higher-level assemblers with transformer assembly, material preparation, staging, and movement while following safety and quality standards and supporting on-time delivery.

This hands-on position involves preparing elements, assisting with pull-down systems and ovens/vapor phase equipment, using hand and power tools, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and completing required documentation (DIRs). The employee will develop foundational skills in crane rigging, blueprint reading, assembly practices, and safe equipment operation. The position is identified as a night role in the posting title.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to pass a background check, drug test, and physical.
• Ability to operate an overhead crane or obtain and maintain certification.
• Ability to read or learn to read blueprints.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn assembly methods and tools.
• Understanding of safety requirements and proper PPE use.
• Ability to follow instructions, document work, and meet quality standards.
• Team-oriented approach, strong housekeeping, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Operate an overhead crane with supervision, including setting up the pendant, rigging spreader bars, and completing pre-operation inspections.
• Assist with loading and unloading ovens and vapor phase equipment.
• Learn to read and work from blueprints under guidance.
• Assist a higher-level assembler with element assembly tasks.
• Assist with pull-down system operation.
• Select and attach leads as applicable, and cut cable to length.
• Apply insulation wraps on leads and assist in building lead structures of all types.
• Assist with kitting parts and basic inventory control.
• Help prepare the element and support tanking activities.
• Assist with crane scale operation.
• Operate man lifts and forklifts without supervision, maintaining certifications as required.
• Use assembly equipment, hand and power tools, and PPE correctly.
• Inspect own work and the work of equal- or lower-level employees with some assistance.
• Complete all required DIRs accurately and on time.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
