About The Position
Delta Star Inc. is seeking a motivated Level 1 Transformer Core Assembly Technician to assist with core assembly operations and learn essential skills under qualified supervision. The role supports core assembly processes, maintains a clean work area, and follows safety protocols while learning to use measuring tools, operate equipment, and assist senior technicians in building transformer cores. Daily work includes measuring components, installing insulation, using basic assembly tools, operating forklifts and overhead cranes under supervision, reading work instructions, and meeting safety and quality standards.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to learn and follow instructions.
- Ability to read a measuring tape or learn quickly.
- Familiarity with hand tools and personal protective equipment usage.
- Ability to work in environments with heat, cold, dust, oil, and vapor.
Nice To Haves
- Basic mechanical aptitude.
Responsibilities
- Assist in core assembly operations under guidance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Follow safety protocols and use personal protective equipment correctly.
- Operate a forklift and overhead crane safely.
- Use measuring tools, including a tape measure, torque wrench, level, and square.
- Read and understand work instructions and DIR.
- Perform leg squareness and leg-to-leg measurements.
- Assist in installing core insulation and framework components.
- Demonstrate correct use of pegs and basic assembly tools.
