About The Position

The Transfer Station Attendant performs customer service and operational duties at the County transfer station and recycling facilities in Arboles, Colorado. The role receives and directs the public, collects payments, monitors waste, directs traffic, opens and closes gates at designated times, and helps keep the facility clean and orderly. The attendant also assists with recycling operations and operates a roll-off truck to move or swap containers for recycling and transfer operations. This is a part-time position.

Requirements

Education equivalent to completion of the twelfth grade.
One year of experience in a directly related field or performing similar duties and responsibilities, such as customer service and cashiering.
Any combination of experience and training likely to provide the required knowledge and abilities may qualify.

Nice To Haves

Class B CDL with a valid medical card is desirable.

Responsibilities

Receive and direct the public using the transfer station and recycling facilities.
Determine fees, collect money, direct traffic, and monitor waste.
Complete reports of daily deposits of collected funds.
Ensure refuse complies with County rules and policies related to landfill operations.
Identify hazardous waste and advise the public on recommended proper disposal.
Maintain a log of customers using the transfer station.
Practice and promote safe working conditions while performing duties.
Provide coverage for recycling tasks as needed.
Maintain a clean and orderly transfer station.
Operate a roll-off truck to move or swap roll-off containers for recycling and transfer operations.
Open and close gates at designated times.
