About The Position

The Transfer, Online and International Student Coordinator, under the direction of the Director of Admissions, is responsible for supporting the recruitment, admission, and enrollment of new and re-admit transfer, online, and international students. This position coordinates the evaluation of academic transcripts and other credentials with the Articulation Coordinator, reviews and makes decisions on domicile applications, and acts on applications for transfer and readmission to Adams State University. The role also processes admissions files for all incoming Online students. This position supports transfer, online, and international recruitment efforts, builds strong relationships with community college partners, and develops on- and off-campus recruitment events and programming to support the recruitment of these students. Finally, this position will assist with various other aspects of the Office of Admissions, including admissions presentations, requests to take courses elsewhere, credential review, general information sessions, campus tours, admission interviews, and supervision of various student staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline.
  • One or more years of relevant technical or administrative experience in an educational setting.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse internal and external constituencies.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to recruiting events including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Adams State University is unable to provide sponsorship, transfer, or support for employment visas (such as H-1B, TN ect.) for this specific opening.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree and three or more years of relevant educational experience.
  • Proficiency in a wide range of computer applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases, with the ability to adapt to new technologies and systems.
  • Experience using a student information system (e.g., Ellucian Banner, Workday Student, PeopleSoft).
  • Experience using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system (e.g., Radius, Element 451, Slate, Salesforce).
  • Previous work experience in transfer credit articulating, as well as transfer, online and international admissions recruitment experience.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish).

Responsibilities

  • Processes admissions files for all incoming transfer, online and international students.
  • Utilizes online degree analysis tools to determine eligibility for coursework completed at other higher education institutions.
  • Maintains and continually reviews Adams State University’s transfer equivalency database.
  • Runs reports to identify potential duplicate credit, reconciles these instances, and notifies students accordingly.
  • Assists with designing schedules and registering new transfer students based on the student’s academic record and information from academic department chairs.
  • Routinely communicates and meets with new transfer, online and international applicants and returning student applicants regarding admission requirements and eligibility.
  • Serves as the primary recruiter and visits community colleges for tabling, presentations, meetings, and transfer fairs.
  • Coordinates the scheduling of recruitment efforts each semester.
  • Conducts persuasive information sessions and other presentations to prospective students and their families about Adams State University.
  • Interviews prospective applicants for transfer, online and international admission and assists with reading applications for admission.
  • Develops and maintains positive and professional customer service and relations within the office and with all constituents across campus.
  • Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude and treats everyone with dignity and respect, supporting the "Student First" value at Adams State University.
  • Consults with the Director of Student Success and faculty stakeholders regarding conflicting information or insufficient course availability for new transfer classes.
  • Reviews requests from current students to enroll in courses elsewhere and provides guidance to students on options for degree completion.
  • Utilizes the National Student Clearinghouse to identify unreported periods and/or institutions at which the student has been previously enrolled and makes appropriate adjustments to the student’s application.
  • Ensures that the University complies with the State Policy on Transfer and adheres to all current guaranteed admission or articulation agreements.
  • Serves as a member of the internal quality assurance team to help ensure data and record integrity associated with enrollment credentials.
  • Recommends and assists in the development of policies and procedures related to international student enrollment, transfer admissions, State Policy on Transfer, Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate, and transfer equivalency tables.
  • Participates in cross-training initiatives to develop a general knowledge base of University and office functions to better guide and refer customers.
  • Provides coverage in the One Stop and handles general Admissions inquiries via phone and email.
  • Plays a key role in developing innovative recruiting programs for prospective students, families, and community college counselors to generate interest in Adams State University, including both on- and off-campus events.
  • Represents the office on various division and university groups and committees.
  • Collaborates with the Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs and the University Registrar on degree maps, Bridge to Bachelor’s programs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor to ensure the success of the department.
