About The Position

The Transfer Facility Operator performs a variety of routine and complex semi-skilled tasks at the Transfer Site and Landfill. This includes hauling waste with a truck and trailer to the landfill, operating heavy equipment such as a loader, dozer, and rock truck, and conducting on-site inspections of incoming waste. The role also involves providing relief duties for Transfer Site Cashiers and Garbage Truck Drivers, along with other assigned related duties.

Requirements

Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent
Must possess and maintain a clean valid “AZ” Ontario Driver’s License
Must have a clean driving record; please provide proof of this with a Driver’s Abstract attached to your application
Two (2) years of experience in equipment operation in a work environment
Must have minimum two (2) years’ experience on a loader and bulldozer
Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time, without any restrictions
Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
Must be able to lift carry up to 10 kg frequently and occasional up to 40 kg

Nice To Haves

Experience with a Rock Truck or compactor would be considered an asset
Experience handling cash would be considered an asset

Responsibilities

Hauling waste with truck & trailer to landfill
